Built between 1927 and 1932 by the architect Albert Baert at the behest of Jean Lebas (mayor at the time), the former municipal swimming pool of Roubaix is an exceptional Art Deco building. Closed in 1985 for safety reasons and converted by architect Jean-Paul Philippon, this exquisite place now houses the Roubaix Museum of Art and Industry.

Acquired by the state in 2001, a huge restoration project was implemented in 2003 by the DRAC Nord Pas-de-Calais, taken over in 2008 by the Centre National des Monuments Historiques, and completed in June 2015.
